12 Reasons to Eat an Alkaline Forming Diet - Reasons #1 & 2

Each month I will highlight two of the twelve reasons why eating an Alkaline forming diet (using whole foods, not synthetic minerals & supplements) best allows for Perfect Health - The Natural Way.

Allowing your body to stay in an acidic state is not the best of ideas if you want to remain healthy, vibrant and full of energy. What we know from most independent research is that we need to follow a 75-80 percent alkaline-forming diet. Research from Britain shows that the higher the alkaline environment in the brain, the higher the IQ.

Well, here are two of the top twelve reasons to avoid eating an acidic diet & to maintain an alkaline environment with whole foods!
A diet that is high in Acid-forming foods (the typical western diet)...
1) Increases Fat Cell Production to Protect Organs, aka "Makes Us Fat!" - The body creates fat cells in order to protect our organs from excess acids. The fat is designed to carry these acid wastes away to other, less critical areas of the body and it clings to these organs to provide protection. Once the body is rid of acid wastes (through a healthier diet and exercise) it no longer needs to hang onto these fats for protection and it lets them go.
2) Yeasts & Fungus Thrive in an Acidic Environment - Many individuals also struggle with yeast and fungus overgrowth's wreaking havoc on our digestive systems. Yeast and fungus thrive in an acidic environment. Because your body is now not able to properly process foods and extract the full nutrition from the foods that you eat - your body is always telling you that you are hungry. To compound this problem, the yeasts and fungus have the greatest shout in this signal to the brain - and what do they make you hungry for - more sugar, which further fuels the yeast growth.

Following a diet of mostly alkaline foods (fresh and raw vegetables, salads, fresh fruits, raw seeds, nuts and water) will slowly begin to clean your system of the yeast, fungus and bacteria overgrowth and will flush your body of the excess survival fat that it has been clinging onto.
